Ghanem Law Firm: Intellectual Property
Intellectual property (IP) is a legal concept which refers to creations of the mind for which exclusive rights are recognized.  It refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce. Under intellectual property law, owners are granted certain exclusive rights to a variety of intangible assets, such as musical, literary, and artistic works; discoveries and inventions; and words, phrases, symbols, and designs.
Intellectual property rights are like any other property rights – they allow the creator, or owner, of a patent, trademark, or copyrights to benefit from his or her own work or investment.

Common types of intellectual property rights include copyright, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights, trade dress, and in some jurisdictions trade secrets.

We help our clients obtain and register the patents, trademarks, copyrights and licenses that protect their products, services and brand identities.

Our lawyers have a broad range of IP prosecution knowledge, including matters of complex international IP prosecution. We are familiar with the Lebanese Law, Madrid Protocol and other applications. For international trademark matters, we work under the auspices of the Berne Convention, and file USPTO patent applications and Paris Convention Treaty (PCT) applications.
